Erbium-doped fibers are doped active fibers used for operation around 1550 nm. They have allowed a tremendous increase in transmission bandwidth as well as a cost reduction in the telecom industry.

Coractive erbium-doped fibers can be used to design erbium-doped optical amplifiers (EDFA) for telecommunication in the C and L band and sensing applications such as LiDAR and wind sensing. We also offer high absorption polarization-maintaining fibers used as gain fiber in single frequency lasers and pulsed lasers.
