Management

• Dr Philippe de Sandro, President & CEO

  Philippe joined Coractive in 2002 from Corvis Corporation and was named C.E.O in 2006. He worked for many years at Corning, USA , and Corning SA, France and prior to that, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Optoelectronics Research Centre at the University of Southampton , U.K. His work has been widely published in scores of industry journals and he is also an inventor on several patents. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Material science from University Paris 6, France and holds a Business and Administration Degree from Laval University, Canada.

• Jean Dubé, Vice President of Sales

  A seasoned veteran of the fiber optic and telecom industry, Jean joined Coractive in 2006 from ITF Optical Technologies, manufacturer of fiber optic components where he served as VP Sales and VP Business Development. During his career, he worked at Exfo America in Dallas as National Sales Manager responsible for the Scientific division and at Anritsu in Richardson as District Sales Manager responsible for the sales of RF and Telecom instrumentation to Service Providers and Telecom manufacturers in the USA. Jean was co-founder of mmWave Technology, a Canadian distributor of fiber optic and RF/Microwave components and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Sherbrooke.

• Fernand Sylvain, Co-founder and Vice President of Operations

  Fernand is co-founder of CorActive High-Tech Inc. He was a research and development (R&D) technologist at l’Institut National d’Optique (INO) in Québec City from the beginning of fiber optic development activity in 1987. He was also part of the Mitel team, manufacturing integrated circuits for the telecom market as well as working at the Chemistry Engineering GRAPS laboratory at Laval University making surface analysis. He started his career at L’Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) working on the Tokamak de Varennes. Fernand holds a DEC degree in Physics technology from the CEGEP de la Pocatière, Quebec, Canada.

• Michel Careau, Financial and Administrative Director

  Michel is CorActive’s Financial and Administrative Director since June 2000. He obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) specialized in accounting at HEC de Montréal in 1983. He is member of l’Ordre des Comptables Agréés du Québec and of the The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) since 1985. He previously worked as corporate controller at Polycor International Group Inc., as analyst and financial consultant at Coopers & Lybrand and as external auditor at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton.
